On the surface how much you are worth is how much money you have invested. Your net worth also indicates how much of this money has been liquidated or how many assets, investments, properties, etc you have which generate an income for the owners. You can check the net worth of any person from howworth. However, your salary is how much money you are paid on a monthly basis. The word salary originates from the Latin 'salarium argentum' which means salt and money. It comes from the custom of giving Roman soldiers payment in salt because they needed it to preserve food long term whereas normal citizens could just eat meat whenever they wanted without worrying about spoilage. Henceforth, any form of regular pay came to be called a salary because it was associated with salt. |
