Fildena is a sildenafil-based PDE-5 inhibitor, used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The generic version of Pfizer's Viagra, Fildena is manufactured by Fortune Health Care in Gujarat, India.
Fildena contains the same active ingredient as Viagra, Sildenafil Citrate, but it is much less expensive. Since generics are just as safe and effective, many patients choose them over the brand-name medication.
Sildenafil is cleared primarily through CYP3A4 and CYP2C9. Its major circulating metabolite, N-desmethylsildenafil, is similar to its parent drug in phosphodiesterase selectivity. The N-desmethyl metabolit has a terminal half-life of approximately 4 hours, allowing it to be cleared from the bloodstream in a similar fashion to sildenafil.
Patients should discuss all current medications with their doctor before taking Fildena 100. Alcohol and sports medicine should not be consumed while taking
Fildena 120 mg. They may interact with the drug and exaggerate the effect of its active ingredient, Sildenafil. Patients with kidney, liver, high blood pressure, or low heart rate should not take Fildena. A doctor can also prescribe alternative medicines if the patient's current medications are not enough to help treat their ED.
Sildenafil acts by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme. PDE5 is responsible for the degradation of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum. Sildenafil deactivates PDE5 in the penis, allowing cGMP to do its job. Sildenafil does not cause an erection without sexual stimulation. It also works by inhibiting another enzyme known as PDE-5.
